ICANN OFFICIALY CLOSES THE TAS (TLD online application system)
ICANN the international body that manages and administers the Domain system has officially announced the closure of the TLD Application system that was being used by applicants to submit application for new generic Top Level domains that are slated to significantly change the internet naming system from the current 21.
As of 23.00 30th May 2012 just over 1900 applications had been submitted in TAS. ICANN will now critically reconcile all payments and submitted applications, and will release the final numbers when the applied-for domain names are published. The targeted date for announcement is 13 June 2012.
