The Internet Has Over 330 Million Registered Domains
The internet appears to be growing every second, with growth to 330.6 million registered domains on the internet.
While all of these domains might not have been turned into a website, and some might have been taken down at some point, but even if half of them have made it, they account for a very big number.
According to VeriSign, a global leader in domain names and internet security, 1.3 million domain name registrations across the globe translates to a growth rate of 0.4 per cent over the fourth quarter of 2016.
“The .com and .net TLDs, together, had about 143.6 million domain name registrations in the domain name base in the first quarter of 2017. This represents a 0.8 per cent increase year-over-year,” the firm said in a statement
In the first quarter of 2017 itself, 1.3 million domains were added to the internet. Domain name registrations have also seen a steady growth with the current rate at 3.7 percent year-on-year. Domain name registrations have grown by 11.8 million, or 3.7 percent, year over year.

As of March 31, 2017, the .com domain name base totaled 128.4 million domain name registrations, while the .net domain name base totaled 15.2 million domain name registrations.
